Does that change my life? Yes, monetarily, but not my work. I have decided to stay in the IT industry, since, thats my area of expertise and lots of money is to be had here. I am now the sole owner of Jeremy Francis Hall Consulting, and have the papers to prove it. I will be doing mostly Mac and network engineering, but will also keep doing home theatre, as money is huge there.
From now on, I will be posting almost daily, and trying to add something of a discussion for the day. I will also be posting security bulletins and tips for todays computer users. If you want something to be talked about here, email me @ Jeremyfrancishall@me.com

FREAKING BACK - STOP HURTING.  PLEASE!

So, I was rear ended on May 21, 2009.  Car suffered 8 grand of damage.  I on the other hand, seem to be getting worse and not better.  I am growing very tired of my back pain.  It was bearable for a while, and now it is at the point that I just want to lay down and be depressed all the time. While I still go to work, my mind is continually hounded by the fact that my muscles are tighter than hell, I crack when I breathe, and have random spasms and sharp, burning pain. 

I have an amazing Doctor @ Cedar Sinai, and that has been a blessing.  However, I'm young, I feel like I'm 90.  I can't sleep at night due to muscle spasms and pain.  Vicodin can only help so much, and I am not taking a ton because I do not want to become addicted.   I'm out of my painkillers tomorrow.  I'm not too excited about this, as they allow me to continue to work, but it seems like an overwhelming situation to me now.  I'd give anything to go back to life before I was hit.  Back pain is no joke, and anyone out there will agree that has chronic pain somewhere.  I think next week I will go to the pain management specialist that was suggested to me.  I really can't live like this much longer and expect to be productive.

This weekend was pretty tough on me.  Big Dave passing has been a rocky road; it's had its ups and downs, but over all I think it will just take time for the realization to pass - He's gone.  Death happens; normal part of life, but I think death is harder when someone like Dave, who was a mentor and role model to me suddenly disappears from your life, without being able to tell them how you really felt about them and what they did in your life without even knowing it.  I think Dave would be proud of how I am handling the situation, and I will continue to keep him and all of our good friends in prayer. 

This weekend was pretty relaxing other than the Capsolin show I attended Friday evening.  It was great to see the band perform again, and they all looked like they loved the crowd, and the music.  

The biggest positive to my weekend was the fact that I finally got to rid myself of the Nissan rental, and get my car back.  Just having my GTi again really helps my back pain in traffic.  I am trying to remain positive about my pain situation, but sometimes it does get overwhelming and slightly hard to continue.  I have began to cut back on going out, to give my back the recovery time it needs.  Sure, sometimes it sucks not being able to go do something to take my mind off things, but in the long run, I will benefit from taking the time off. 

Moving on to Monday, today I was able to work from home and accomplish a lot of backlogged things: client quotes, emails, sleep, and most importantly, mental health day!  This week will be quick, as most of the country will be off Friday July 3rd for the weekend celebrations. Tuesday I must install a new domain controller in Santa Ana, and the rest of the week looks pretty open.  I cant wait to see what is in store for work.  

As a side note, I met someone pretty cool today and we've been chatting pretty much the duration of the afternoon.  Lets just say I haven't spoken this openly to anyone in a long time.  If anything develops, who knows!  It's been a great time having open and honest conversation, and we'll leave it at that for now =]

Who Will Read it? http://itmaster.posterous.com/i-should-use-this-yeah-i-will-use-it-who-will http://itmaster.posterous.com/i-should-use-this-yeah-i-will-use-it-who-will Let’s just add this to my list of addictions in this web-based world of sharing shall we?  Blogging is one of those things that always wants to be on my list of things to do daily, but never wanted to use any blogging software that I have used.  

Sure, Wordpress is great if you have time to use it.  Or maybe you have really awesome content to serve up and actually utilize it as intended.  I have been using Facebook and Twitter for years to serve up my content to close friends and relatives, but recently want to use something that requires 1 step.  

I would like to use this as a end of the day journal, and express things in my head out loud, and most likely not have anyone read it – which, is totally fine. I think it will be a good way to relieve stress at the end of my day, and possibly entertaining for anyone who happens to stumble on a post or two.

As any good story, I will take this last paragraph to introduce myself to you (whoever that may or may not be).  My name is Jeremy, and I am a Network Engineer working with clients from all over the country remotely, and on site I cover from San Luis Obispo all the way down to San Diego.  My areas of expertise range from Network Layout and Development, to large Infrastructure planning and Implementation.  I enjoy what I do most of the time; however, clients always seem to think they are the only people I deal with, and have tantrums like small children.  

With all of my travel, experience, and sarcastic humor, maybe people will stick around to read my posts.  If not, well, screw it – at least I can type out my days and hopefully save my liver from catastrophic failure.

Side Note:  This first post is dedicated to my good friend and mentor, Big Dave.  He passed this week suddenly while on a hike with my buddy.  May he rest in peace.  He was well known and loved by all.  You will be missed brother.  You will be missed.
